Much has been written about the Civil War, both from a fiction and non-fiction standpoint. The Circling Eagle is a fictional account, dealing with the hardships that confronted many after the conflict ended. It is my hope that the reader will find the novel entertaining, thought provoking, yet enlightening.

As a novelist, I strive to produce stories that capture the human spirt. In this book the characters are oftened faced with what appear to be insurmoutable odds, yet they push on, driven by love and an unending belief in their purpose. I feel that in a sense, this work is a story of America and its struggles. James and Kate have seen their world shattered, yet they find the courage to go on. Wilford, though he has known the pain of discrimination, confronts all obstacles in a quest for justice.
